Peter and Trintje

My niece and nephew, Trintje and Peter Nydam deserve their own page, So here it is. They are incredibly cute and usually well behaved. For lots more history and pictures, go to their site mantained by my sister. Now that I have spent some time visiting with them with my new camera, I have way too many photos, so here are some of the best...

Trintje was sorting through the wooden letters and numbers, and sorted out all the yellow ones. Her mother asked her what color they were "lallo" she said (yellow). Her mother tried to get her to say "yellow" finally Trintje said "way Tee get bee-uh" (wait ['til] Trintje gets bigger).

One of their favorite things to do after watching Maisy Mouse in the evening is to "run fas" around the loop from the living room through the halls to the dining room and back to the living room. This is even more exciting if someone else will make the loop and can be run from or after.

Of course, the life of a 2.5 year old is not all fun and games. Usually they are giggling and screeching happily, but from time to time life's injustices are just too much, and the wailing begins. If they are crying and are not done, when you try to wipe their faces, they say something like "Tee still cry". The cutest thing is when one gets hurt, and the other one runs over to give them a hug. If that doesn't stop the crying, then you know that the injury is a little more substantial (or makes less sense). Luckily they rarely both have crisis at the same time. This allows my sister to maintain her tenuous grip on sanity.
